TERMS AND CONDITIONS

St John Christmas Home Lottery (“Lottery”) is conducted by St John Ambulance Australia SA Ltd (ABN 42 947 425 570) of 85 Edmund Avenue, Unley SA 5061 (“St John”, “we”, “us” or “our“). By purchasing a ticket in the Lottery, you agree to be bound by these terms and any other terms attached to specific prizes including the terms of redemption. The Lottery is conducted in South Australia under Lottery Licence No: M14618.  New South Wales License No: GOCAU/2578 Australian Capital Territory Permit No:  ACT R 24/00143 Victoria Permit No:  10303/24

ELIGIBILITY – ALL PRIZES

The Lottery is open to all Australian residents that are a minimum of 18 years of age, other than any of the following, who are ineligible to purchase tickets in any capacity:

• any board member, committee member or staff member at St John Ambulance; or

• any immediate family (including spouse, de facto spouse, parent, child or sibling) of any board member, committee member or staff member at St John Ambulance Australia SA Ltd; or

• any HLB Mann Judd employee or partner; or

• any immediate family (including spouse, de facto spouse, parent, child or sibling) of any employee at HLB Mann Judd.

• any CMS employee or partner; or

• any immediate family (including spouse, de facto spouse, parent, child or sibling) of any employee at CMS.

Every individual listed on a ticket warrant at the time of purchase that they are at least 18 years of age and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, permitted to receive any of the prizes forming part of the draw at the time of purchasing the ticket.

LOTTERY DETAILS

The total available prize pool for the Lottery is approximately $10,900,967.71. The value of the prize pool is approximate as at the date of print of these terms. A total of 616,000 tickets are available for purchase. A total of 63,076 prizes are up for grabs. A list of all the prizes (including all inclusions and exclusions) is available on our website at www.stjohnlottery.com.au. Prizes awarded may not be exactly as illustrated. Tickets are priced at 1 for $100, 3 for $250, 5 for $375 or 7 for $500. Subject to the total number of tickets available, there is no limit on the number of individual tickets a person may purchase. Assuming all tickets are sold, each ticket has an equal 1 in 10 chance of being drawn in the Main Draw. We will use all proceeds raised through the Lottery (less costs and expenses) to continue our operations, activities, programs and services to the community.  Proceeds will also be shared with other St John Ambulance charitable entities in Australia that have assisted in the promotion and operation of the Lottery. The details of these St John Ambulance entities are as follows:

• St John Ambulance Australia Tasmania Inc.
  (ABN 65 764 484 851).

In addition to the involvement of other St John Ambulance entities, Campaign Management Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 30 668 605 598) will be assisting with the telecommunications associated with ticket enquiries and purchases (excluding Victoria).  Campaign Management Solutions will not be entitled to any proceeds from the Lottery or a percentage of any revenue from the Lottery.

For the avoidance of any doubt, all tickets purchased from the commencement of the Lottery are returned to the draw for all remaining draws, even the tickets that are successful in winning a prize prior to the Main Draw on Wednesday 18 December 2024.  The Lottery encompasses the Weekly Draws and the Main Draw.  If ticketholders meet the membership eligibility requirements detailed in the ‘Membership’ section, they will also be eligible for the Ferrari Members Draw and the Members Christmas Cash Draws.

MAIN DRAW

The Main Draw (including the Grand Prize Draw) will be drawn on Wednesday 18 December 2024 at 10:00am Australian Central Daylight Time (ACDT) (immediately following the Ferrari Members Draw) at St John Ambulance Australia SA Ltd, 85 Edmund Avenue, Unley, SA, 5061, under supervision by an independent scrutineer. Ticket sales close at 11:59pm ACDT on Sunday 15 December 2024.

GRAND PRIZE OPTIONS

The winner of the Grand Prize will be required to choose between the following 5 options:

OPTION A: a fully furnished home in Beaumont, South Australia valued at approximately $3,600,000, Furniture valued at $168,350 and luxury car valued at approximately $235,000 and $1,000,000 cash (or gold). The total Grand Prize value for Option A is approximately $5,000,000.

OPTION B: A home in Surfers Paradise, Queensland valued at approximately $3,600,000 and luxury car valued at approximately $320,000 and $1,000,000 cash (or gold) and $80,000 Harvey Norman spending spree for home furnishings. The total Grand Prize value for Option B is approximately $5,000,000.

OPTION C: An apartment in Sydney, New South Wales valued at approximately $3,500,000 and a luxury car valued at approximately $440,000, $1,000,000 cash (or gold) and $60,000 Harvey Norman spending spree for home furnishings. The total Grand Prize value for Option C is approximately $5,000,000.

OPTION D: An apartment in Melbourne, Victoria, currently under development due to be completed in 2026, valued at approximately $3,540,000 and luxury car valued at approximately $400,000 and $1,000,000 cash (or gold) and $60,000 Harvey Norman spending spree for home furnishings.  The total Grand Prize value for Option D is approximately $5,000,000. Relevant deeds in relation to ownership will be executed at the time of awarding the prize. St John Ambulance SA will remain financially liable for associated costs until the completion of the prize transfer.

OPTION E: $4,500,000 in cash (or gold).

GRAND PRIZE TERMS

For the avoidance of any doubt, the winner of the Grand Prize may only choose ONE of either Option A, Option B, Option C, Option D or Option E as set out above. The choice of Grand Prize must be evidenced in writing by the winner. Upon selection of either Option A, Option B, Option C, Option D or Option E the winner is unable to change their selection.

The lucky winner of the Grand Prize will be notified by telephone and email on the date the Grand Prize is drawn. The Grand Prize winner will also be announced online at www.stjohnlottery.com.au by no later than Friday 20 December 2024.

The market value of the houses at the time of redemption may be different from the value as stated in these terms and at www.stjohnlottery.com.au due to fluctuations in the Australian housing market. For the avoidance of any doubt, none of the cash (or gold) amounts that form part of the Grand Prize will change irrespective of whether there is any change to the valuation of the properties in Option A, Option B, Option C or Option D. 

MAIN DRAW PRIZES

There are 63,021 prizes to be won in the Main Draw, including electrical equipment from Harvey Norman Gepps Cross and various electronic gift cards. A complete list of prize winners is available at www.stjohnlottery.com.au. The total combined prize pool of all Main Draw prizes (excluding the Grand Prize) is $3,163,965.

All Main Draw winners will be notified by email no later than Tuesday 24 December 2024. An email will be sent to all Lottery participants no later than Friday 20 December 2024 with a link to the winner’s list. Details on how to redeem the prizes will be provided at the time of notification.

WEEKLY DRAWS

Each Weekly Prize Draw will be drawn at 10:00am (ACDT) at St John Ambulance Australia SA Ltd, 85 Edmund Avenue, Unley, SA, 5061, under supervision by representatives from an independent scrutineer on the relevant Weekly Draw Date set out in the schedule below. All tickets in all Weekly Prize Draws will be returned to the ticket pool to be eligible for the remaining Weekly Prize Draws and the Main Draw.

To be eligible for the Weekly Prize Draw, an individual must have purchased ticket(s) by no later than 11:59pm (ACDT) on the relevant Weekly Deadline Date set out in the schedule below.

The lucky winners of the Weekly Prize Draws will be notified directly in writing, via telephone and will also be announced online at www.stjohnlottery.com.au within 7 days of the respective draw.

FERRARI MEMBERS DRAW

The Ferrari Members Draw will be drawn on Wednesday 18 December 2024 at 10:00am (ACDT) at St John Ambulance Australia SA Ltd, 85 Edmund Avenue, Unley, SA, 5061, under supervision by an independent scrutineer. Ticket sales close at 11:59pm (ACDT) on Sunday 15 December 2024.

To be eligible for the Ferrari Members Draw, an individual must be a member of the St John Christmas Home Lottery and remain a member until 10am (ACDT) on Wednesday 18 December 2024.  Membership is subject to the terms expressed in these terms and conditions.

FERRARI MEMBERS DRAW PRIZE

The Ferrari Members Draw prize is a is a Ferrari 296GTB hybrid, valued at approximately $753,890 inc. on road costs, plus $40,000 in cash (gold) for a combined total of approximately $793,890.

The lucky winner of the Ferrari Members Draw will be notified directly in writing, via telephone and will also be announced online at www.stjohnlottery.com.au within 7 days of the respective draw.

All tickets in the Ferrari Members Draw will be returned to the ticket pool to be eligible for the Main Draw.

MEMBERS CHRISTMAS CASH DRAW

The Members Christmas Cash Draws are held on each business day from and including Friday November 15, 2024 and the final one takes place on Friday 13 December, 2024. Each Members Christmas Cash Draw will be drawn at 10:00am (ACDT) at St John Ambulance Australia SA Ltd, 85 Edmund Avenue, Unley, SA, 5061, under supervision by representatives from an independent scrutineer.

To be eligible for the Members Christmas Cash Draw, an individual must have purchased ticket(s) prior to 11:59pm (ACDT) on the previous day and must be a member of the St John Christmas Home Lottery. Membership is subject to the terms expressed in these terms and conditions.

MEMBERS CHRISTMAS CASH DRAW PRIZES

There will be a total of 21 Members Christmas Cash Draws for 1 prize of $10,000 each draw.

All tickets in all Members Christmas Cash Draws will be returned to the ticket pool to be eligible for the remaining Members Christmas Cash Draws, Ferrari Members Draw, Weekly Draws and the Main Draw.

The lucky winners of the Members Christmas Cash Draws will be notified directly in writing, via telephone and will also be announced online at www.stjohnlottery.com.au within 7 days of the respective draw.

GENERAL LOTTERY TERMS

TICKETS AND PAYMENT

Tickets can be purchased online at www.stjohnlottery.com.au by credit card or PayPal or by phoning our call centre on 1300 946 466 for all states excluding Victoria (1300 946 669 if in Victoria). Purchases by credit card, cash, cheque and money order can be made at our offices at 85 Edmund Avenue, Unley SA 5061. Purchases by cheque will only be eligible for future Draws if they are received, cleared and processed prior to the relevant draw deadline. We do not accept any responsibility for cheques that have not cleared or been processed by the cut-off times for the relevant draws, or any cheques or money orders that we do not receive in time for the draw.

Tickets may be purchased in multiple names. The first named individual on a ticket will be regarded as the primary contact individual. All prizes will be issued to the primary contact individual. We are not responsible, nor will we consider or enter into any correspondence regarding any dispute between individuals named on a ticket regarding the issuing of prizes. When purchasing multiple tickets in a single transaction, ticket numbers will be printed on a single sheet.

We do not accept any responsibility for any entries not received for any reason during the Lottery period nor do we take any responsibility for lost, late or misdirected entries. We are not responsible for any unforeseen technical difficulties with the ordering process and nor do we warrant the availability of the ordering process.

PRIZE VALUES

The value of the prizes at the time of redemption may be different from their stated value in these terms and at www.stjohnlottery.com.au. The winner is not entitled to the difference, if any, between the stated value of the prize and the actual value of the prize at the time of redemption.

To claim a cash (or gold) prize an identification process will be undertaken where the ticket holder will be required to produce identification documentation to receive their prize. This will be undertaken in person at 85 Edmund Avenue Unley SA 5061 or by alternative arrangements with our legal representatives.

REFUNDS

Requests for refunds will only be accepted prior to 5:00pm (ACDT), Sunday 6 October, 2024, upon verification of payment. No refunds will be accepted after this date. Upon processing a refund, the corresponding ticket(s) will become void. Refunds can only be requested by calling 1300 946 466 (excluding Victoria. The Victorian telephone number is 1300 946 669) or emailing [email protected].

Details of all prizes listed herein are also available at www.stjohnlottery.com.au. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. Unless otherwise stated above in the relevant prize description, no cash equivalents are available. All prizes will be issued to the primary contact individual.  Letters and notifications will be addressed to the primary contact individual named on the official lottery ticket.

MEMBERSHIP

So that an opportunity to participate in future fundraising campaigns is never missed, by purchasing a ticket each participant can opt-in to become a member of the St John Home Lotteries, receive our marketing emails and participate in future lotteries. We will notify each participant prior to the opening of the next lottery. Participants will be able to opt-out at the point of purchase when purchasing tickets online or by calling 1300 946 466 (1300 946 669 if in Victoria). An individual must opt-in to becoming a member of the St John Christmas Home Lottery in order to be entered into the Ferrari Members Draw and the Members Christmas Cash Draw.

GENERAL

Each prize winner indemnifies us and keeps us indemnified against all claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses suffered or incurred by us, HLB Mann Judd, Campaign Management Solutions Pty Ltd, Cowell Clarke, the independent scrutineer or any third party arising out of a breach of these terms by the participant.

Where a ticket holder has, in our view, violated these terms and conditions in a material manner, we reserve our rights to invalidate any ticket issued to that individual (including where they may be one of the multiple individuals named on a single ticket).  All invalid tickets will be withdrawn from all prize draws. Any determination of St John regarding the validity of a ticket or breach of these terms and conditions is final.

PRIVACY

By entering the Lottery, each participant consents to the personal information they submit on their entry form being collected by us to facilitate the administration of this Lottery and membership with us. We will collect, use and store all personal details of participants in accordance with the terms of our privacy policy, a copy of which can be obtained at www.stjohnlottery.com.au or to obtain a printed copy, please call 1300 946 466 (1300 946 669 in Victoria). We may disclose your personal information to our service providers to facilitate the conduct of the lottery. Each winner consents to us publishing the winner’s name and suburb unless the winner has expressly opted to remain anonymous at the point of purchase.

UNCLAIMED PRIZES

The applicable state (as referenced below) is determined by reference to the address provided by the ticket purchaser at the time of purchase of the ticket/s.

Unclaimed Prizes in NSW and ACT

If a prize is unclaimed in the ACT and NSW within 3 months of the draw date, St John will comply with conditions stipulated by ACT Gaming and Racing Commission in relation to a redraw.  Such redraw for any unclaimed prizes in any of the draws will occur at St John premises, on 2 April 2025 at 10am (ACDT).  All draws will be conducted using the same systems and processes as the regular Lottery draws.

Unclaimed Prizes in other States (excluding ACT and NSW)

Unclaimed prizes will be dealt in accordance with the applicable legislative requirements.

In the event that the Grand Prize remains unclaimed for one year following the date of the Main Draw, a redraw will be conducted on 14 January 2026 at 10am (ACDT) in the ordinary course of drawing the Lottery.

In the event that any other prize above $5,000 in value remains unclaimed for one year following the relevant draw date, these will be redrawn on 14 January 2026 at 10am (ACDT) in the ordinary course of drawing the Lottery.

Any prizes won by individuals (excluding NSW and ACT residents) under $5,000 in value that have not been claimed within twelve months of the relevant draw date will be sold or otherwise used to further St John’s charitable purposes.
